The Minister of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior Regime, Elías Bendodo, together with the Minister of Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, and the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, has presented the new fleet of emergency ambulances consisting of 21 new vehicles, on Mercedes-Benz chassis bodywork by Eurogaza Emergencias, intended for the attention of health emergencies in Andalusia. The Ministry of Health and Families investment amounts to 634,233 euros per year for the next four years, with the possibility of extension to one year in the renting modality.

The presentation of the new fleet was also attended by the delegate of the Andalusian Government in Malaga, Patricia Navarro; the managing director of the Public Health Emergency Company (EPES), Fernando Ayuso; the managing director of the SAS, Miguel Ángel Guzmán; the provincial director of 061, Alejandro Salazar; and the president of the Port Authority, Carlos Rubio, among others.
The Minister of the Presidency explained that “These new mobile ambulances have the highest technology because they are part of the clear commitment of the Andalusian Government to provide the community with health services that offer users the highest level of care.” He continued, “All these ambulances have the latest technological features, are adapted to European regulations, and follow community recommendations to increase the safety of patients and health professionals.”
The Public Company for Health Emergencies (EPES), created in 1994, has the aim of providing comprehensive care for accidents and emergencies in Andalusia, thus contributing to the improvement of citizens’ health and providing personalized services in the pre-hospital setting. EPES is responsible for – amongst other services – handling the 061 direct dial number, as well as the health emergencies that arise within its geographical area.
